The Horizon

The Horizon

The horizon is the greatest trickster
Always inviting those curious souls for a peek at what lies beyond
But never fulfilling their curiosity by enticing them with the next horizon

A fanfare of merging colors
Accompanies assorted mirages
As they pitter-patter along the horizon line

How many have fallen victim to its promises?
Why have I yet to learn from those before me,
As I trail the trickster’s greatest trick
To a place that might not even exist?
